Can You Use Your FSA/HSA for Nutrition Services?

Yes! Many clients can use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to cover nutrition services with a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from their healthcare provider.

What qualifies?
🔹 Nutrition counseling related to a medical condition (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, IBS).
🔹 A doctor’s LMN stating nutrition services are necessary for managing that condition.

What might not qualify?
❌ General wellness, weight loss without a medical diagnosis, or preventive care may not be covered.
❌ Some FSA/HSA administrators have strict diagnosis requirements, so multiple conditions (e.g., obesity + hypertension) may help with approval.
